"Gray" in Bello Mag

Josie and I have been having a lot of fun with boys lately. Two of these boys are David & George at Oxygen Models, who we shot a few weeks back when the weather was a lot warmer than it is these days. This story is now featured in Bello Mag.

"Waiting for dawn" in Bello Mag

Can you tell I've been busy lately? I'm getting soooo ready for Christmas. The last few months have been such hard work and focused (yet fun!), but it's great to see results and that my work is getting out there. Makes it all worth it.

This story for Bello Mag was shot at the very cool bar JuJu includes the lovely Paul Scott (D1 Models) and Aaron Berry (Shine). Styling by Lauren Clements. Grooming by Samantha Hosker. Nick Radley assisting. Thanks to the lovely people at Juju for letting us invade the bar for a few hours to have some fashion and photo fun.

Carbon Copy Issue 02 editorial - "I am Melker"

Another reason I'm excited about the second issue of Carbon Copy is my second editorial in it with Melker Andersson (M+P Models). I shot him recently in my studio, and got some amazing results.

As a fellow scandinavian, I knew he would be totally awesome. Despite his young age, Melker is one of those models who knows how to move. His confidence and creativity is inspiring, and have forced me to simply work with him again!

Daleya Hassan provided some great styling for the shoot and Josie Heighton-Towers provided awesome grooming (not guitar playing). To see/buy the full story:

Carbon Copy Issue 02 editorial - "Everyone is Broken"

Super excited about the release of issue 2 of Carbon Copy by Client Magazine. Especially as I have a very special story including Sim Jennings (Oxygen) in it. For those of you who follow my blog you'll know he's my little muse and I'll shoot him as often as I can. Totally adore him.

Sim Jennings for Carbon Copy Issue 02

Another thing with this editorial that makes me very exciting is that the lovely people at David Andersen based in Denmark send me clothes to shoot with from their AW10 collection. I'm in love with their styles and was so excited to do a story with this collection, including Sim, located at the very beautiful Lordship Park.

The story is called "Everyone is Broken" as I find that in general a lot of people pretends to be happy on the outside, but when in fact a lot of people are hurting inside and carrying it around on their own. For me photography is a way to express what I feel I can't say, and saying things with beautiful fashion, gorgous models, awesome locations and great images makes me happy.

This shoot was such a pleasure and a little oasis of a day and I wish I could have it back. It flowed really nicely and I had such a great team with me. Gabriella Ciullo was a little bit of sunshine as always, doing the hair and make-up. You can check out the David Andersen collections here. The editorial also includes an interview with the Danish born designer by moi.

It's all so super that you all must go buy this issue! haha You can order it online (see links below). It ships internationally, so good news for those not based in the UK as well. I also have a second editorial in this issue, which I shall blog about tomorrow, so check back in then as well.

New face Marthynus featured on MaleModelScene

I recently shot the lovely Marthynus at AMCK models. Apparently this young south african model dislikes clowns and his favorite grooming product is soap. Yep. I stole that straight from his FTape interview didn't I. At only 17 it will be really interesting to follow his model journey. He was rather awesome to work with.

What inspires you?
Are you an influencer?
Are you helping to set new trends?
Are you inspiring someone else?

These are some of the things on my mind at the moment. In a previous post I talked about muses and what inspires me, and after looking at it from a perspective on who and what inspires me, the next thing on my mind is who can I inspire.

Whether you are a photographer, a model, a make-up artist or a stylist etc.- why do we do what we do? Is it to become rich, famous, get recognition, see our pictures in a magazine - or is it because we are passionate about something that we want to share with as many people as possible. For many it's probably a few of those things. But I do think that the more passion is involved, the more of a chance you will have to make an impact on others. I think as long as you can inspire even just a few people, then it has somehow been worth it.

Alex sent me this video the other day and told me watch it, so thought I'd share it with you as well.

One of the quotes from this video says that "when you get to a certain place, you must help identify other talent and be the influencer of someone else". I really think if you're a true influencer, that's how you will truly be able to set new trends.

It's an exciting time to be involved in photography and fashion. Through the internet and blogging, twitter, facebook etc. we can all easily express ourselves. Through our passions we can help set new trends and influence others.

As the movie asks; who's gonna be the new icons of this era? Time will tell. But in the meantime, have fun, be inspired, help influence others and try to make your impact.

Another new face at AMCK Models: Ollie

Another set of images to share with you this week. I shot the lovely Ollie a couple of weeks back. Although a very chatty model who made me laugh whilst impressing me with his awesome dance moves, as soon as the camera was up he delivered some very strong images. Great fun to shoot. Ollie was signed with AMCK this week, so wishing him well.

Check out images from shoot in this latest OhLaLa feature.

New face Will at AMCK Models featured in OhLaLa Mag

I've recently shot some awesome new faces at AMCK Models. First one out is Will. This set of images is currently featured in OhLaLa Mag.

Well done to Will for braving the cold on a nice, but very cold, day last Sunday. Grooming done by the lovely Josie Heighton-Towers (who by the way is learning how to play the guitar. Unrelated to anything in this post really. But thought everyone would like to know).

Goodbye my almost lover

Goodbye my almost lover

Goodbye my hopeless dream

I'm trying not to think about you

Can't you just let me be?

I cannot wake up in the morning

Without you on my mind

So long my luckless romance

My back is turned on your

Should've known you'd bring me heartache

Almost lovers always do

You gotta love the ducks.I wanted them on a lead, but Rachel at the farm couldn't deliver. Apparently ducks get moody sometimes. Country lesson learned.

Colour Me Autum 1

I am now ready to share my images from my farm shoot a little while back. The whole shoot is edited in full colour to really show off the wonderful colours in Cyra's styling and the feel of the farm we were using as a location to shoot at.

This was such a great day and was worth the long drive to get there. The fabulous people at Manor Farm let us invade their location for the day and was so lovely and helpful. Big thank you for all the help and treating us like royalty. That alone was worth the trip out of London to Gloucester to feel warmhearted people who liked doing nice things for others (have I lived in London too long? haha).

When you plan to shoot outdoors, and especially with a big team, it's just fab when the weather is on your side. The farm provided so many great locations for us to play with on this sunny, autumn day and helped create some wonderful images. Models, Elena and Cristyn from Nevs, were brilliant to work with and lovely girls. Cyra Alcock had brought with her an impressive wardrobe to help provide this explosion of colour. With help from Daleya Hassan they did such an amazing job in making the girls look stunning and create a lovely hot autumn day feel. My Gabriella was on hand to do wonderful hair and make-up as always. I also had Ray Liu with me on the team be my photographic assistant. Great team, which gave great results and at the same time made for such a fun day.

As I have so many images from this series that I want to share with you, I am posting images in three separate posts over this week. To see behind the scenes footage from the day, you can check out this previous blog post.
