OhLaLa Magazine feature: Alex @ D1

Some of you may remember a few months back when I was bragging about an amazing new model I had been shooting and all the images I was gonna share. I'm so pleased to finally be able to share these images with you. Grooming by Gabriella Ciullo.

My latest publication in OhLaLa Mag features the wonderful Alex Semenzato @ D1. Next to being an amazing model that is so inspiring to work with, he is also probably one of the nicest guys in fashion. Ok, that feels like a big load of weight off my shoulder now that the world knows haha. The OhLaLa editor loved Alex as much as I do, and decided to feature images from this shoot as well as some from a more recent shoot I did with Alex. So more to come and be excited about!

I came across an amazing photographer, Bruno Dayan, the other day, and wanted to share some of his pictures with you. Hopefully they will inspire you too.

I have been in two minds if I should put this up on my blog. Or on YouTube in the first place. 1) because this is a project I was working on last year and 98% of the images is work I did a year ago, and 2) because my photography has come a long way since then. Also Simon is in two of the stories, which doesn't give the right overall flow, but I love the images so much I feel it needs to be in there. The project was a personal project to push myself to work with multiple models, learn how to direct models that didn't know each other to be intimate and relaxed, and also to tell stories of different types of relationships.

I've decided to add it up anyways as it never as a project saw the light of day then. If nothing else than as a recap of where I was a year ago, and looking back at my work in 2009.

So feel free to enjoy anyways. What I do like about this is the story side of it and the music to set the mood. Imagine you are in a large room with the the music playing, walking around whilst watching the images in big on the wall.

Video Editorial in Bello Mag

Behind the scenes videos are easy. Video editorials like this one just published in the latest issue of Bello Mag is a little more complicated. So my team of the day experienced as we put this video together.

I had wanted to do a video editorial for a while and I knew Alex @ D1 had to be in it. I also knew I needed the wonderful video expertise of my friend and great photographer Jay McLaughlin. Working from morning to the late hours we managed to capture video and edit it all together. What a fun process, definitely doing some more of that!

London Fashion Week is upon us

People in fashion seem to be in a mix of stress and high excitement these days. It's for a good reason as London Fashion Week is upon us. How exciting!

In preparation for this I helped the lovely peeps at D1 get some photos ready for some of their boys. Some of this is now part of the London Fashion Week Show Package - London S/S 11 : D1 (Men), which is currently featured on models.com.

There is also a really really cool video to watch on the models.com page, which both Paul and Felix are part of looking very good! I have embedded the video at the end of this blog, cause it's such a must watch. Also love the music in it.

I really want to see some of my boys walk, and am scheduled to go to at least one show which I'm very much looking forward to. Will happily accept more invites from any important fashion peeps that happen to read my blog. Happy London Fashion Week everyone!

Preview of editorial of Tom @ Oxygen that will be featured in Carbon Copy by Client. Very excited to be able to share more images from this shoot soon that will be featured in the first release of Carbon Copy.

Tom was such a great model to work with, and I'd love to do another shoot with him in the future. Although still a fresh face in the industry he already has a few editorials behind him, is signed in London and Milan, have landed a campaign with a large and known brand, and is currently getting ready for the catwalk in London Fashion week.

Good to know what awaits where I'm aiming to be heading, Jolijn Snijders....

So I'm not really bothered about fame, but I do want success. Lots of it. Fame does not always bring out the best in people. I haven't really posted any written updates in a while on my blogs. Lots of images though, which is what it's all about anyways. Not sure anyone is really interested in my every day life and what I'm up to outside of the images I produce. I've been so busy shooting this summer and am incredibly happy with progress and results. Things are going well. Good times. I have done so many shoots recently that I'm looking forward to sharing, but I'm crossing fingers some of them will get published, so I shall be sharing when the time is right.

For those that do demand an update on life. I fed a model a burger the other day. He was hungry. Such is life.

First video published: Video of Tom @ Oxygen in OhLaLa Mag

Music has always been a great inspiration for my photography. The fact that the Canon 5D mark II has a video feature makes me more excited than Christmas and birthday combined. It inspires me to create little moments of fashion mini movies where I can combine moving images with music. I have more movie plans for the future and look forward to sharing this with you as it develops.

It must be said that Tom @ Oxygen Models is hot and the ultimate teenage cool. When he asked me if I was "gonna make one of those behind the scenes videos", it reminded me that video would definitely be a good idea to play with for this shoot. With Tom's natural and relaxed posing, it was so much fun putting this together. And the OhLaLa peeps loved the result enough to feature it in their very cool magazine - good times!

Btw this shoot took place so recently that I haven't even looked through all the images yet. This is just a teaser of images from this set, so much more to come from this shoot. Umisha Mistry provided cool highstreet autumn styling. Grooming by Gosia Peruzynska. Assistance by Cath West.

OhLaLa Magazine feature: Paul @ D1

OhLaLa recently featured my brand new images of Paul from D1 Models. I took him to my secret place (not as dodgy as it sounds) and captured some simple, but gorgous images of him. He had cool hair. Must remember to book him again to shoot soon.
